Bar Exam in NY and Elsewhere to Overlap Jewish Holiday

The Summer 2004 New York Bar Exam is set for Tuesday and Wednesday, July 27 and 28.  July 27 is the Jewish holiday of Tisha B'Av.

The same conflict is true in dozens of other states across the country, since most states' bar exams are either Tuesday-Wednesday, Wednesday-Thursday, or Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday, with Wednesday being the Multistate day, and Tuesday or Thursday being the local day or days.

New York has announced that anyone needing special accommodations should contact the State Board of Law Examiners at 1 Executive Centre Drive, Suite 202, Albany, NY 12203, or by email at tishabav@nybarexam.org.  The deadline is October 10.
