Col. James H. Rosenblatt, a native of Natchez with more than 30 years legal experience in the Army, was named Tuesday as the new dean of the Mississippi College School of Law.

Rosenblatt, who will soon retire from the Army, will take over at the law school on Aug. 4, said Mississippi College President Lee Royce.

"He combines a fine formal education at Vanderbilt and Cornell universities and an exemplary career in the U.S. Army with longtime Mississippi connections," Royce said.

Rosenblatt is presently stationed at Fort Monroe, Va. He most recently served as chief counsel for the Army's Training and Doctrine Command.

He earned a bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt and a law degree from Cornell.
